Good thing the recession is over.

Yesterday I heard a report on CNN about how bad it is that some people are claiming the recession is already over, when it's really not. They said it was just like declaring the Iraq war over and then dragging it out a few more years.

But I guess somebody thinks everything is okay. Check out the new Jobs at Scienceblogs. The list is longer than I would have expected. So I guess somebody is hiring?

You will notice that the entire first page is "Kelly Scientific Resources", who are some sort of staffing agency. I made the mistake of interacting with them a few years ago when I finished my BS. They told me that I should expect to make $10/hr to start in the Boston area. I told them where to go, and that I could make more as a mail carrier. Then I wound up finding a job of my own making much more than 10 an hour. They are jerks.

Kelly is ok. I also went with them after getting my BS degree. I ended up going back to school for the PhD, but they got me a foot in the door. It was $15/hr but that was exactly 10 years ago.

I was looking at jobs offer here (= in Switzerland). There were so many offers... So I looked a bit closer: only two companies are hiring. Massively, but only two. Both pharmaceuticals. And surprisingly not Roche.

The entire first page is Kelly Scientific? Try the first dozen or so.
