Thank commenters it's friday
Just want to send a big e-hug to those of you who occasionally drop in a comment just to say you liked a post, or that something similar happened to you, or that you've witnessed similar horrors, or want to correct the trolls.
Yesterday I got overwhelmed with a strong feeling of wanting to be told I was doing a good job on something, ANYTHING. Sometimes blogging is the only thing that seems to be going well.
Thanks for the e-pat on the head, ya'll. I'm glad I still have the blog as a way to touch base and hopefully help those in need.
Next post will be soonish, I promise... hang in there.

thanks for keeping up the blogging. i am still in academia(ish- its non tenure track) but see so much blatant sexism its making me seriously question staying there. then again, not sure it will be better anywhere else. otherwise i do love my job, its just all the other crap that goes with it that sucks.
sorry, this wasnt meant to be a downer comment- just that its good to read your blog & feel like there are others that get it.
You blog is ace! It's one of the few on my google reader for which I always read a new post.
I didn't had the occasion to tell you before but I do read all your posts and enjoy them.

still, mildly amusing to think I can piss these people off SO MUCH that they feel the need to write a whole paragraph telling me how fucked up and wrong I am.

Hi MsPhD, just wanted to say I think the issues you address on this blog are really important. The system in academic science is so obviously fucked up but everyone is either blind or pretends not to notice - except for you. That can change though, and your blog can help - maybe more than you think. Thanks for all your articulate writings, and keep it up!
