Who ARE you??
Out of the 79 people who answered the web poll so far, 13 said they love being a postdoc.
What ARE you people?? Fresh out of grad school or something??
I'd love to know how long you've been a postdoc and what's so great about it (and I think our other readers would, too).

I think I voted "Yes, I love it" .. and have since changed my mind (I'm nearing the end of my 1st year).
I'm a (lurking) postdoc-liker.
I started my current PostDoc 9 months after finishing grad school and have been in it for one year now. Granted, there are aspects about it that I don't like. For example, blatant discrimination with foreigners getting no benefits in contrast to nationals. (Which in this case is not only 'not nice', but simply illegal, 'cause of EU laws.)
What I like is that I enjoy research once again. Which really was not the case at the end of my PhD.
I'm a liker, too. 9 months, after 4 years in grad school. I'm enjoying research again after the anguish of writing up, continued freedom to work on whatever I want, and a well funded lab. Oh, and that transition to computational genetics in grad school? Good idea.
